We are looking for an experienced Hardware Engineer / IoT Hardware Consultant who will be involved on an ad-hoc basis to support specific hardware-related requests, including presales, discovery, technical estimation, and solution validation when needed.

This is a consulting cooperation format rather than a full-time dedicated role. The specialist will be engaged depending on project needs to provide hardware expertise, review technical approaches, assess feasibility, and help shape reliable IoT hardware solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Support presales and discovery activities by providing hardware expertise, technical input, and solution validation.
  • Review client requirements and help define feasible hardware architecture and implementation approaches.
  • Support effort estimation, technical risk assessment, and preparation of hardware-related recommendations for potential projects.
  • Develop electrical schematics for IoT devices.
  • Design printed circuit boards, from 2-layer to multilayer, including high-speed and RF boards.
  • Select electronic components considering availability, cost, reliability, and project requirements.
  • Optimize power consumption, work with battery-powered solutions, and implement low-power modes.
  • Integrate microcontrollers such as STM32, ESP32, Nordic, NXP, TI, and other hardware components.
  • Assemble and test initial board prototypes and debug schematics.
  • Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and other tools to validate device performance.
  • Prepare production files, including Gerber, BOM, and Pick & Place files.
  • Support communication with PCB manufacturers and provide input during manufacturing preparation.
  • Maintain technical documentation for manufacturing and product lifecycle support.

Requirements:

  • Experience in schematic design and development of digital and analog circuits.
  • Strong PCB design skills, including experience with 2-layer and multilayer boards.
  • Understanding of high-speed signal design, EMI/EMC considerations, and shielding techniques.
  • Experience with wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LoRa, Zigbee, NB-IoT, 4G/5G, RFID, or UWB.
  • Experience integrating sensors, such as temperature, humidity, vibration, acceleration, or similar.
  • Experience with low-voltage power systems, including DC-DC converters, LDOs, batteries, and power-saving techniques.
  • Hands-on debugging skills using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other lab equipment.
  • Ability to analyze client requirements, identify technical risks, and propose feasible hardware solutions.
  • Basic knowledge of embedded programming, especially C/C++ for microcontrollers, would be a plus.
  • Upper-Intermediate level of English or higher.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with simulation tools such as LTspice, PSpice, MATLAB, or similar.
  • Familiarity with IoT device certification requirements across different regions, including the EU, USA, and China.
  • Experience with MEMS and sensor technologies.
  • Understanding of compliance and certification standards.
  • Previous experience participating in presales, discovery, technical consulting, or estimation activities.
