We’re looking for an experienced Freelance Web Developer to support a London-based IT services company on an ad‑hoc, project-based basis.

This role is highly delivery-focused. You’ll work from clearly defined technical briefs, delivering WordPress and web development tasks efficiently and to a high standard. The internal engineering team handles client communication.

The opportunity

This role combines flexible freelance work with the option to be part of a Kyiv-based technical environment. You will have access to our fully-equipped office, complete with solar-powered generators that provide eight hours of uninterrupted power, a Starlink backup satellite network, coffee and snacks, and monthly social events.

What you’ll do

  • Build and amend WordPress websites
  • Implement front-end and back-end changes
  • Fix bugs and resolve technical issues
  • Handle hosting-related tasks (DNS, VPS, migrations)
  • Work from written briefs or tickets
  • Provide clear delivery timelines and progress updates
  • Collaborate with engineers in Kyiv and stakeholders in London

Tech Stack

  • WordPress
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • PHP, MySQL
  • Git
  • Hosting environments & migrations
  • Cross-browser development
  • English level B2 or above (spoken and written)

Requirements

  • 3+ years commercial web development experience
  • English level B2 or above
  • Confident working independently as a freelancer
  • Reliable availability during UK business days
  • Responsive (able to acknowledge new work within 1 business day)

Nice to have

  • SEO implementation experience
  • Ability to work from a Kyiv office once per month (optional but preferred)

Cultural fit

  • Comfortable collaborating with other engineers (async and occasional live contact)
  • Clear, professional communicator, even when work is task-based
  • Open to being part of a wider technical community, not a “heads‑down, no‑contact” setup
  • Happy to occasionally work alongside others rather than being fully isolated

Engagement

  • Freelance / self‑employed; registered as a Private Entrepreneur
  • Hourly or day rates (day blocks preferred where possible)
  • Flexible workload depending on demand
