We are looking for an experienced Geospatial Engineer who can design, build, and optimize geospatial components of the platform. You will work closely with the product team and AI/analytics engineers to ensure smooth processing, visualization, and scalability of large geospatial datasets.

This role involves both backend geospatial architecture and front-end map rendering, with a strong focus on performance, tiling pipelines, and modern geospatial formats.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain web-based map experiences using frameworks like Mapbox GL JS or Leaflet.
  • Architect and implement geospatial APIs and backend services for data ingestion, processing, and analysis.
  • Work with spatial databases (PostGIS, GeoParquet, Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFFs).
  • Build and manage tiling pipelines, including vector tiles, raster tiles, and multi-resolution pyramids.
  • Integrate geospatial components into React front-end applications.
  • Ensure high-performance rendering of large datasets and smooth user experience.
  • Design solutions for serverless and cloud-native geospatial workflows.
  • Support offline and low-connectivity features for field operations.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and AI teams to produce geospatial insights and analytics.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Mapbox GL JS, Leaflet, or similar mapping frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of geospatial backend development and API design.
  • Hands-on experience with PostGIS, GeoParquet, COGs, and spatial indexing.
  • Deep knowledge of tiling pipelines (vector & raster tiles), tile compression, caching, and optimization.
  • Experience integrating maps into React applications.
  • Familiarity with processing large geospatial datasets with a focus on performance and UX.
  • Experience with cloud-native or serverless geospatial architectures (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Knowledge of offline mapping, caching, and synchronization.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
