About the Project

Our customer is a fast-growing technology company operating several premium digital products within the luxury goods industry. They are building a modern ecosystem of tools, mobile applications, and marketplace features used by collectors and buyers globally.

The mobile apps (iOS and Android) support a key part of the company’s product offering. Both apps are built with a WebView-based architecture and require an experienced mobile engineer to take ownership, improve stability, and guide future upgrades to a more modern mobile stack.

Location: Remote (Europe time zones)
Engagement: Full-time, long-term contract
Start Date: ideally in December

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Mobile App Developer to lead the development and maintenance of the company’s iOS and Android applications. The apps are built using WebView wrappers, so strong experience with WebView-based mobile development is essential.

You will work closely with the web and backend teams, deliver new features in React Native when needed, and play an important role in planning the future migration to a more modern mobile framework such as Expo.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, optimise, and improve existing WebView-based iOS and Android applications.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix WebView-related issues, performance bottlenecks, and platform-specific quirks.
• Work closely with backend and frontend teams to ensure smooth integration between the mobile apps and the web platform.
• Build new screens or features using React Native when required.
• Manage the full lifecycle of app releases, including testing and submissions to the App Store and Google Play.

• Contribute to architectural planning for a long-term migration to a modern mobile stack (e.g., Expo).

Required Experience

• 4+ years of professional mobile development experience.
• Hands-on experience with WebView-based mobile apps on both iOS and Android.
• Strong skills in React Native.
• Experience with releasing and maintaining apps on Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

• Confident using Xcode and Android Studio for debugging and testing.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Swift and/or Kotlin.
• Exposure to Expo, hybrid apps, or migration projects.
• Understanding of native modules, performance optimisation, and mobile architecture best practices.
